Master of Computer Application
The Department of Computer Applications of Cochin University of Science and Technology is one of the premier departments offering a Master of Computer Applications. The department aims to develop competent and skilled computer professionals who are capable of meeting the challenges in modern organizations. Computer Applications is a branch of science that encompasses data mining and warehouses, computer networks, software engineering, and much more. This program enables the students to gain expertise in the latest programming language and tools to develop quality applications. Master of Computer Applications is geared towards developing students’ professional skills needed for employment and adapting to the rapidly changing technology. The course will help the students be molded professionally and ethically and enhance their leadership qualities and teamwork. The course was revised in the years 2016, 2019, and 2020. Initially, the duration of the course was three years, and now it is two years.
Other Highlights
The Department has a placement cell managed by students and actively assisted by the faculty members. All Eligible students have successfully joined major IT companies.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Passed BCA/Bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering or Equivalent degree
OR
Passed BSc/BCom/BA with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduate level (with additional bridge course as per the norms of the concerned University)
Should have obtained at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination
