The Department of Computer Applications is a pioneer department of Cochin University of Science and Technology established in the year 1994. Currently the department offers MCA (Master of Computer Application), MSc Computer Science with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence, MSc Computer Science with Specialization in Data Science, Ph.D in Technology and Ph.D in Science. As of now more than 30 Ph.Ds has been produced in data science and allied areas. This department is bestowed with an experienced team of faculty members with an excellent academic track record and proficiency in data science, machine learning and cyber security. In the last five years the department has more than hundred publications in reputed journals and conferences. Also, the faculty has more than one crore worth funded projects. Curriculum of the department provides good theoretical foundation through high-quality teaching and extensive practical training. In addition to regular curriculum the department organizes workshops, technical seminars, faculty development programmes (FDP), short term training programmes (STTP) and conferences to expose the students with real world problems catering to industrial and societal needs.

Cusat campus is very unique with huge labs, an amphitheater and a wonderful library. Lot of events are conducted like Innpasco(DCA fest), Sargam(cusat arts fest) and many more. You will learn, grow and have a very changed perspective due to the diverse environment here. DCA provides many placement opportunities, good faculty etc. Be it education, friendship or memories, I have learnt a lot from here and so will U!
DCA,CUSAT is the best with the Faculty focusing on developing our natural skills to implement it in IT interdisciplinary areas. As a previous research scholar, NCILC was one platform which interacted with pioneers in my area. Through this, I got an internship at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The placement cell gives guidelines and ample opportunities for industry interaction. An eternity of memorable experiences.
